About this event

The Tofino Oyster Festival, long known as the Clayoquot Oyster Festival, is Tofino's oldest-running festival and a celebration of the region's world-class shellfish, held each November as the town settles into its quieter storm-watching season. Taking place November 27 to 29, 2026, largely at the Tofino Community Hall, the three-day event pairs local oysters with west-coast hospitality on the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. The weekend traditionally features the Mermaid's Ball on Friday, a marquee Oyster Festival Gala dinner on Saturday, and the family-friendly Shucker's Showdown on Sunday with all-you-can-eat oysters, food, drink and shucking competitions. Chefs, growers and shuckers showcase the flavours of Clayoquot Sound, and proceeds support local charities such as the Redd Fish Restoration Society and the Food Bank on the Edge. Tickets are required for the ticketed events, with drinks purchased on-site. It is a warm, festive way to experience Tofino in the off-season, celebrating the ocean bounty that defines this coast alongside locals and visitors. Whether you are a die-hard oyster lover or simply after a lively west-coast weekend, the festival delivers great food, good company and community fundraising. Watch the official website for the 2026 program and ticket release.
